Reconnect 'Befriending' project is a volunteer led service that aims to combat loneliness and isolation. Our volunteer befrienders are locally recruited and have undertaken a bespoke volunteer and training programme.
If you would like to become a Reconnect Telephone volunteer, or would like some support, we'd love to hear from you.

Befriending Group Christmas Party
When I came [To Befriending] I had not long lost my partner and the house, I felt less than useless. Befriending has opened up my friendship group and since becoming a Befriender, I have taken part in First aid and safeguarding courses.
I had a stroke 10 years ago; I spent 6 weeks in hospital. At home I felt isolated. Since coming to Befriending, I have made lots of friends. Befriending keeps me motivated.
I come to Befriending for the exercise and to see other people.
Befriending helped me get a Chromebook which helped me a lot and allowed me to access online courses. I was helped to attend Befriending which helps me socialise with other people. I learned a lot from a recent talk on Dementia. Befriending is doing a good job at helping me and others.
Thank you to Black Country Foodbank who have continued to support the Befriending Group.
